Lincoln MKR Concept Car

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- FEV Engine Technology, Inc. (FEV), announced today that Ford Motor Company has agreed to allow FEV to display the Lincoln MKR concept car at its exhibit during the upcoming SAE World Congress, April 16 - 19, 2007, at Cobo Center in Detroit. The Lincoln MKR was unveiled at the 2007 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), and was regarded as one of the hits of the show.

"At the NAIAS, it's all about the overall look of the vehicle, the sex appeal," said Robert Last, vice president of operations and communications for FEV. "The SAE World Congress, though, is all about what's under the skin - about how we make these beautiful automobiles work. By bringing this technologically advanced concept to this type of show, we are showing the inextricable link between the outer beauty and the engineering innovation that makes it work. Engineering plays a critical role in developing this or any other concept or production vehicle."

As far as outer beauty, the Lincoln MKR is striking. Touted by Lincoln as containing attributes that will be incorporated into future Lincoln products, the Lincoln MKR is a sleek four-door, four-place sport sedan. The interior is a model of simplicity, not overburdened with knobs and buttons. Both exterior and interior are clean and symmetrical providing a balanced look.
The inner beauty, or engineering innovation, can be found in the engine compartment. The concept is fitted with Ford's TwinForce engine, a twin- turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 24-valve V-6 direct fuel injected engine. The engine, with aluminum block and heads, has a displacement of 213 cu. in., generates 415 bhp @ 5750 rpm, and provides 400 lb.-ft. of torque at 2000 rpm.

FEV will also be displaying a developmental turbocharged direct injection spark ignition engine project that was developed as an in-house prototype as well as a wide variety of products that demonstrate advanced capabilities in hybrid technology, exhaust and emissions technology, and benchmarking, including a Lexus IS 350 benchmark engine. In addition to the Lincoln, a Chrysler Sebring, equipped with a modern passenger car Diesel will also be featured in the exhibit.
