Sales of 911 Series Best Ever

ATLANTA, July 3, 2006 -- Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars and Cayenne SUVs in the United States and Canada, announced its best six-month results in the U.S. in history. The German automaker recorded U.S. retail sales of 2,871 vehicles in June, up 13 percent compared to the same month last year, and the second-best June ever. Year-to-date sales rose 15 percent to 18,601compared to 2005's first-half of the year number of 15,126.
"Setting a sales record in the first half is gratifying, but we are looking forward to the second half of the year with some amazing new products, such as the new 911 Turbo that just went on sale and is already creating a lot of showroom excitement," said Peter Schwarzenbauer, PCNA President and CEO. "The same will go for the base version of our Cayman model, which promises to attract new sports car enthusiasts to our mid-engine model series."

Porsche's 911 model line up has helped drive Porsche's sales in the U.S. and has enjoyed new sales records throughout the year. In June, sales of the 911 were up 115 percent to 1,266 compared with the same period last year. Part of the 911's record-setting sales in June can be attributed to the launch of the new 911 Turbo, which recorded sales of 256 despite only being launched on June 24.
