Eye-catching Suzuki Works Techno (SWT) add-ons make American Suzuki a must-see for show goersBREA, Calif. (October 31, 2005) - At a significant and serious time in its history, with new-product introductions and sales growth at all-time highs, American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) arrives at the 2005 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) trade show to have a little fun and turn a few heads by showcasing new Suzuki Works Techno (SWT) accessories and two of its "Suzuki Live Series" concept vehicles. Treating auto enthusiasts to a flurry of SWT accessories and styling packages to enhance their rides with unique looks for the company's most popular vehicles, Suzuki will display a total of four SWT vehicles in its booth, including the Reno LX SWT Edition, Aerio SX SWT Edition and two all-new 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitaras, tricked out in SWT accessories.
In addition to its full line of SWT accessories, Suzuki will display its "Dune" and "Blizzard" Grand Vitara concept vehicles. The "Dune" and "Blizzard" are two of the company's eye-catching "Suzuki Life Vehicles," embodying the automaker's new "Way of Life" brand campaign—products designed for life enthusiasts.
Suzuki Works Techno To complement Suzuki's expanding product line, the company launched Suzuki Works Techno in 2004—a line of style-enhancing trim packages and accessories designed to personalize Suzuki sedans, wagons, crossover vehicles and SUVs sold in the United States. SWT accessories currently are available for the Reno, Forenza, Forenza Wagon, Aerio and all-new Grand Vitara.
Reno LX SWT Edition The 2005 Suzuki Reno LX SWT Edition was the first in a series of SWT models. The limited-production Reno LX SWT sports a stylish mid-mount rear spoiler and stainless steel exhaust tip with laser etched SWT logo. Carbon fiber enhancements include SWT-tattooed B-pillar trim, rear bumper protector and carbon fiber-style body graphics, giving enthusiasts a distinctive "street tuner" look. Other SWT options include, carbon fiber dash and console trim, and chrome alloy and gunmetal alloy wheels. Consumers can purchase Reno SWT accessories on an individual basis or in a comprehensive package at their local Suzuki dealership (prices to be determined).
Aerio SX SWT Edition Following the introduction of the Reno LX SWT Edition in March and 2005 Aerio SX SWT Edition in April, and inspired by strong dealer demand, Suzuki introduces the all-new 2006 Aerio SX SWT Edition. Designed specifically for sports-oriented consumers, the Aerio SX SWT Edition features a front strut tower bar, carbon fiber-style body graphics, carbon fiber B-pillar trim and a carbon fiber rear bumper protector to assist in avoiding bumper paint damage when accessing personal gear in the trunk. Continuing the SWT package's carbon fiber theme, Suzuki also offers carbon fiber rear license plate frame.
There are three wheel options available for the Aerio SX SWT, including chrome alloy, gunmetal gray alloy and rally-inspired white alloy. Interior features include audio system iPod compatibility and illuminated cup holders and front footwells to match the dashboard lighting. Available in early 2006, the Aerio SX SWT will be available through Suzuki dealers.
Grand Vitara Accessories Inspired by the popular SWT styling packages for the Reno and Aerio SX, Suzuki rolls out a full-line of accessories for its all-new 2006 Grand Vitara and offers three distinctive packages, including the Touring Package, which includes a trailer hitch, custom trailer wiring harness and roof rack cross bars; Sport Package, which offers a stylish SWT rear spoiler, rear cargo net and SWT exhaust tip; and Protection Package, which features a durable SWT bumper protector, rear cargo net and wheel lock set.
Consumers also can purchase exterior and interior accessories for the Grand Vitara on an individual basis. To enhance the exterior styling of the new Grand Vitara, Suzuki offers brushed metallic finish B-pillar trim, silver finish grille, durable vinyl SWT quarter window graphics, steel exhaust tip with laser etched SWT logo and a racing-inspired, SWT-engineered rear spoiler. For a sporty look, Suzuki offers a custom fit side step bar set and aluminum running boards.
Additional exterior features include durable acrylic sunroof and window visors, rugged off-road fender flares and carbon fiber look vinyl hood and nose masks to help protect the Grand Vitara's paint finish. For added protection to prevent minor nicks and scrapes, Suzuki offers heavy duty, molded polyurethane bumper guards, body side and bumper molding sets and a rear bumper protector, available in both black and brushed metal-style trim. Suzuki also offers a variety of easy-to-install chrome accents for the exterior rearview mirrors, antenna mount, hood vents, windshield washer accents and door sills.
As a vehicle geared toward life enthusiasts, the Grand Vitara offers numerous removable roof rack systems and storage capabilities, including removable roof rack cross bars, lockable bike module, composite material surfboard/kayak holder, adjustable ski/snowboard holder, specially designed aluminum roof cargo tray and aerodynamic roof cargo box.
To complement the Grand Vitara's already impressive interior, consumers can purchase a custom Burlwood trim kit with UV protective polyurethane coat and a rich finish that conforms to the dash and console. Custom engineered SWT aluminum alloy wheels for the Grand Vitara are available in two sizes, 16-inch and 17-inch, and two finishes, machined/paint and chrome. For enhanced looks and security, Suzuki also offers SWT smoked chrome wheel lug and lock sets.
"Suzuki Live Series" In addition to its full-line of SWT accessories on display, Suzuki will display two of its "Live Series" concept vehicles, the "Dune" and "Blizzard" Grand Vitaras. To explore the viability of alternative accessory packages for consumers, ASMC has developed four vehicles to illustrate how its products play an integral part of consumers' lifestyles. The "Suzuki Live Series" concept vehicles—coined "Dune" for off-road enthusiasts; "Blizzard" for snow sports enthusiasts; "Wave" for lake sports aficionados; and "Sea" for active surfers—personify Suzuki's new "Way of Life" brand campaign.
"Dune" Grand Vitara The "Dune" Grand Vitara is designed for off-road enthusiasts who demand off-road capabilities. Well equipped with 26 inches of ground clearance and a towing capacity of 3,000 lbs., the "Dune" provides enough muscle to add a huge dose of exhilaration to any weekend. The exterior features flared fenders and integrated cladding and running boards, all dressed in lightening yellow paint to match the color scheme of Suzuki ATVs. Roomy on the inside, the five-passenger "Dune" features a rear off-road gear storage and "mobile garage" work station, ideal for last-minute adjustments. The "Dune" also offers a built-in GPS and navigation system.
The "Dune" was featured at the 2005 SURFER Poll Video Awards in September and, after an appearance at SEMA, the Grand Vitara concept will hit the auto show circuit, with stops planned in Seattle, Indianapolis, Detroit, Chicago, Kansas City, Mo., Denver and Atlanta.
"Blizzard" Grand Vitara The "Blizzard" Grand Vitara is designed to fulfill the needs of people with active lifestyles focused on snow sports. With a 2.7-liter turbocharged Suzuki engine, full-time four-mode four-wheel drive system and wide grip studded snow tires, the "Blizzard" is equipped to handle just about any road condition. The Grand Vitara concept offers a dockable iPod station, an in-car video and gaming system and in-car Internet access, allowing passengers to check snow conditions on the way to the mountain. In the rear, the vehicle offers chairlift-style seating for gearing up for the slopes and removing and drying gear afterward. The "Blizzard" is equipped with built-in glove and boot warmers and ventilated wet gear storage in the rear cargo area. The "Blizzard" also features a custom roof rack system with enclosed, backlit snowboard pods and a television camera to let the driver keep an eye on his/her snow equipment.
In September, the "Blizzard" was featured at the 7th Annual TransWorld SNOWboarding Riders' Poll Awards, which included more than 1,000 of the snowboarding industry's top professional athletes and decision makers. Following a comprehensive auto show schedule, with stops planned in Anaheim, Calif., Miami, Orlando, Fla., San Diego and Los Angeles, the "Blizzard" will join SKIING magazine's Half Pipe Jam Series and also make appearances at the Elan Dolomite On Snow Events.
