Audi A6 allroad, Audi RS 4 Avant and Cabriolet, Audi S6 and Audi S8 – AUDI AG will be offering visitors to the 16th Auto Mobil International (AMI) five German premieres from 1 to 9 April at the new exhibition centre in Leipzig. These five exceptional cars are the focus of attention at the Audi press conference with Jörg Felske, Head of Sales Germany at AUDI AG, at the press day at the AMI in Leipzig.
The very first generation of the allroad quattro proved to be a great success for Audi. Based on the A6 Avant, it has been the big Audi for any road and season since the year 2000. Now its successor is about to be launched. The new A6 allroad quattro is even more spacious, luxurious, striking and versatile. And the allroad is true to its name: it offers even more performance and dynamic handling – both on-road and off-road.

From this summer, Audi will for the first time be offering additional versions of the RS 4. Following the successful market launch of the saloon at the end of last year, the Avant and Cabriolet versions will be appearing at dealers at this time. This highly emotionally charged, high-performance product from quattro GmbH unites the characteristics of a sports car with supreme everyday qualities.

This is as true of the saloon version as it is of the Avant and the four-seater Cabriolet. The RS 4 has numerous new features to distinguish it. Most notably, there is the V8 engine with an output of 420 bhp. This is the first time that a manufacturer has combined petrol direct injection with a high-revving concept. Engine speeds of up to 8,250 rpm are possible.

The new Audi S8, due to be launched in mid-2006, sets new standards in its class. The Audi S8, born from a fascination for technology, combines comfort, aesthetics, elegance and uncompromising quality to produce a high degree of passion and superiority. The S8 ten-cylinder engine has a displacement of 5,204 cc, from which it produces an output of 450 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 540 Nm of torque. 90 percent of this power is available from just 2,300 rpm. The Audi luxury saloon consequently achieves the road performance of a high-calibre sports car. The Audi S8 sprints from a standstill to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, and effortlessly reaches a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically governed).

A refined flow of power in conjunction with superlative comfort and an elegantly understated appearance: this is the new Audi S6 / S6 Avant. It is the sporty top version in the luxury-class family comprising the Audi A6 saloon and the A6 Avant. In response to the challenge to deliver supreme performance that always remains perfectly under control, the new Audi S6 will be powered by a completely new ten-cylinder V-configuration engine. This engine makes maximum use of its resources. With a displacement of 5.2 litres, it has an output of 435 bhp (320 kW) at 6,800 rpm. Its maximum torque of 540 Nm is available between 3,000 and 4,000 rpm. Between 2,500 and 5,500 rpm, torque of over 500 Nm is available. If required, the saloon is capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds (S6 Avant: 5.3 seconds); the top speed is electronically governed to 250 km/h.
