BRABUS offers the world's most extensive engine program for Mercedes-Benz automobiles. The new Mercedes CLK Cabriolet is no exception: The range of BRABUS products includes a powerful BRABUS 6.1 increased-displacement engine for the V8 models CLK 500 and CLK 55.
This engine produces 426 hp / 313 kW of power and an enormous peak torque of 621 Nm at 4,100 rpm. For the displacement increase of the eight-cylinder engine to 6.1 liters the BRABUS powerplant engineers developed a custom one-piece crankshaft with longer stroke, and larger pistons. In addition the cylinder heads are precision re-machined and fitted with custom camshafts.

The BRABUS sport exhaust system with its high-performance metal catalysts also contributes to the impressive engine performance, as do the custom-programmed engine electronics.

Thus equipped the new ragtop four-seater is one of the fastest open sports cars in the world: With the BRABUS 6.1 engine the new CLK Cabriolet accelerates in just 4.7 seconds from 0 – 100 km/h. Top speed is 300 km/h.

BRABUS also offers engine tuning for the six-cylinder models CLK 240 and CLK 320. The most powerful V6 version is the BRABUS 3.8 S increased-displacement engine with 300 hp / 220 kW at 5,750 rpm and a peak torque of 395 Nm.

All BRABUS engines are lubricated with ARAL high-performance motor oil.

BRABUS stainless-steel sport exhaust systems and sport rear mufflers are also available for all new Mercedes CLK Cabriolet models.

Sporty elegance characterizes the BRABUS aerodynamic-enhancement program for the CLK Cabriolet. The BRABUS front apron with four auxiliary headlights lends the car an even more striking face and reduces aerodynamic lift at high speeds. The BRABUS rear apron features a
custom-tailored cutout for the BRABUS sport exhaust with dual chrome-plated tailpipes.

Both front spoiler bumper and the new rear apron are designed to be attached to the original mounting points and are easily exchanged for the production parts.

The exclusive BRABUS look for the four-seater cabriolet is rounded out with one-piece and multipiece BRABUS Monoblock light-alloy wheels with 17-, 18- or 19-inch diameters. The largest possible tire/wheel combination on offer is a multi-piece BRABUS Monoblock V or VI rim in size 8.5Jx19 on the front axle and 10Jx19 in the rear. Extensive tests proved Michelin or Pirelli tires in sizes 235/35 ZR 19 in front and 265/30 ZR 19 on the rear axle to be best.

Sporty handling combined with high ride comfort are the domain of BRABUS suspensions, developed for all engine versions in close cooperation with technology partner SACHS Race Engineering. The list of available components ranges from lowering springs to sport sway bars to complete sport suspensions.

BRABUS offers three different versions of its high-performance brake system for the new CLK Cabriolet. The largest version features six-piston aluminum fixed calipers and 355-mm vented and slotted disks on the front axle. The rear axle is fitted with 300-mm disks and four-piston aluminum fixed calipers. Custom flex steel brake lines guarantee consistent high brake pressure.

BRABUS can style the interior of the new open Mercedes according to customers' requests. The list of available options includes chrome sill plates with illuminated BRABUS logo, an ergonomically shaped leather/wood-design BRABUS sport steering wheel and even an exclusive fully leather interior, crafted from especially soft yet durable BRABUS Mastik leather.
