The Chinese automobile manufacturer Brilliance JinBei is launching its European debut with the 4.88 meter long BS6 notchback sedan. The vehicle is offered with a choice of two different engines: The 2.0 litre, four-cylinder, 90 kW (122 HP) engine generates maximum torque of 170 Nm. The 2.4 litre gasoline engine performs at 95 kW (130 HP). The spurt from 0 to 100 km/h takes 12.5 seconds with a top speed of 195 km/h. Both engines with 16-valve technology and manual five-speed transmission are the result of cooperation between Brilliance and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation; they meet the Euro-4 emission standards.

With the smaller engine, customers can choose between the Comfort and the Deluxe package. Both have numerous standard comfort features that include parking assist, metallic paint, alloy wheels, and power windows. In addition, both versions of the BS6 are equipped with comprehensive passive and active safety features. ABS with electronic brake boosters, four-wheel disk brakes, and an electronic differential lock are all standard. Power steering and the precisely-tuned chassis, which absorbs abrupt jolts and bumps well, further enhance driving comfort.

The design of the four-door BS6 is demonstratively restrained. The no-frills, elegant sedan was developed by the Italian designer Giugiaro. A dominant-sporty radiator cowling and V-shaped nose characterize the front view. The designer combined form and function for the side view; the contour helps to reduce wind resistance and therefore interior noise.

With an overall length of 4.88 meters, the BS6 has plenty of space. It offers lots of leg room for a relaxed, comfortable trip – both front and rear. Even the trunk is noteworthy: With a volume of 550 litres, it is in the top of the class for its vehicle segment and was designed with families in mind.
