Citroën’s ‘Unmistakeably German’ campaign for its brand new C5 has picked up the award for ‘Best Car Advertising Campaign’ at the 2008 Motor Trader awards. This is the second time in four years that the Company has won the same accolade - previously with its ground-breaking C4 Transformer advert which went on to become an internet viral sensation.
Citroën’s Teutonic ‘Tour de Force’ beat off competition from the Ford Focus’ ‘Beautifully Arranged’ and the VW Golf’s ‘Enjoy the Everyday’ campaigns.
Curtis Hutchinson, Editor of Motor Trader, commented, “Citroën has delivered another memorable and witty campaign which breaks with traditional car advertising. The ‘Unmistakeably German’ adverts are both original and innovative and have prompted car buyers to find out more about the car.”
The award was collected by Ian Hughes, Marketing Director of Citroën UK, who said “We’re thrilled that this advert is attracting new customers to the brand who are looking for the qualities that they’ve been accustomed to in a well built, yet stylish, package. Dream and reality have met to produce a quality product which is appealing to a new audience.”
