2006 Autodelta Alfa Romeo 156 Granturismo Review

September 2006

Autodelta is pleased to introduce the 156 Granturismo aerodynamic bodystyling kit designed for the facelift Alfa 156 model (2003-2006), an enhancement which has been inspired by the multiple touring car championship-winning Alfa 156 S2000 racers.

This brand-new bodykit has been designed by Autodelta's design team to improve the Alfa 156's already very highly-regarded appearance. It carefully adds Ëœin your face' aggression to one of the most stunning sports-saloons to be introduced in the last decade, enhancing Giorgetto Giugiaro's gorgeous, award-winning lines but most importantly without loosing any of their timeless appeal.

The 156 Granturismo kit also draws inspiration from our popular ËœGTA Racing' bodystyling kit (for the Alfa 156 GTA model), which we first introduced with the launch of the Autodelta 156 GTA AM in mid-2004. This, in turn, was directly evolved from the styling of the aerodynamic aids used on the FIA European and World Touring Car Championship-winning Alfa 156 racers.

The ËœSuperTouring 2000' Alfa 156 has become one of Alfa Romeo's most successful touring car racers in the Milanese brand's long and illustrious history, and has rightly taken its place amongst a pantheon of greats which includes the 1750 GTAm of the 1970s and the DTM-winning 155 V6 Ti from the 1990s. In the hands of Fabrizio Giovanardi (2002) and Gabriele Tarquini (2004), the Alfa 156 beat the mighty factory BMW runners to claim the FIA European Touring Car Championship crown, and this year it is still in the thick of the action during the second edition of the FIA World Touring Car Championship as part of a three-car team.

The 156 Granturismo bodykit can also be fitted to the pre-facelift Alfa 156 (up to 2003), provided the front grille, bonnet and headlights are changed for the later Giugiaro-styled version. The kit will be available for worldwide delivery from 21st August, or it can be fitted at our London headquarters or by any of our authorised dealers.
