With a Gentex auto-dimming mirror system, all three of the vehicle's rearview mirrors darken automatically in response to glare from rearward- approaching vehicles. The brighter the glare, the darker the mirrors become, protecting the driver's vision and making nighttime driving safer. The Gentex three-mirror system is standard equipment on this full-size, luxury sport-utility vehicle. The interior auto-dimming mirror comes integrated with a compass and temperature display, as well as Johnson Controls' HomeLink(R) Wireless Control System. HomeLink consists of three buttons conveniently located on the face of the mirror that can be programmed to operate garage doors, estate gates, security systems, home lighting, and other radio-frequency-controlled devices. Driver- and passenger-side exterior auto-dimming mirrors with integrated through-the-glass auxiliary turn signals are also part of the system. The turn signals' arrow-shaped array of LEDs are aimed at the vehicle's blind spots and serve to warn other drivers of impending turns and lane changes. "More and more vehicles are adding three-mirror auto-dimming systems because consumers recognize them as an important safety feature," said Gentex Executive Vice President Garth Deur. "By making the system standard on the QX56, Infiniti and its parent company, Nissan Motor Company, Ltd., show their commitment to equipping their vehicles with the latest safety technology."
