Lexus has previewed its new GS 460 performance sedan at the Brisbane International Motor Show, ahead of its local launch in March.

The GS 460 will supersede the GS 430 sedan and feature an all-new 4.6-litre V8 developing 255kW of power and 460Nm of torque. The GS 460 sedan will also receive Lexus' unique eight-speed automatic transmission, delivering a wider spread of gears to enhance power delivery and fuel efficiency.

GS 460 will deliver improved fuel economy over the current GS 430 of 11.0 litres per 100km*.

GS 460 also previews styling revisions to be introduced across the entire GS Line, with new front and rear bumper bars, mirrors, wheels and door handles - giving the vehicle a sharper presence on the road. Inside, all GS models will receive a revised steering wheel, instrument panel, aluminium-look shift plate and revised flip-down control panel.

Lexus Australia chief executive John Roca said the GS has been a pivotal vehicle for the Lexus brand.

"The GS Line introduced the L-Finesse design philosophy to the world.

"It has been instrumental in cementing Lexus' position for leading-edge design. "GS 460 continues this theme with its new visual appeal, while other revisions across the vehicle range will add further appeal to the GS for luxury vehicle buyers.

"The 4.6-litre engine is one of the most advanced Lexus petrol engines available today, delivering smooth performance with better fuel efficiency than the model it supersedes," Mr Roca said.
