Porsche Cars North America Reports December Sales

New Record for Porsche Sales in North America

ATLANTA, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars and Cayenne SUVs in the United States and Canada, today announced 2005 was the best sales year in its history. PCNA sold 33,859 cars in North America, an increase of 2 percent over 2004 when the company sold 33,289 cars, its previous record. Of the 33,859 cars sold in 2005, 14,524 were Porsche Cayenne's, 10,653 were Porsche 911s, 8,327 were Porsche Boxsters and 355 were Porsche Carrera GTs.
For the month of December, PCNA sold 2,861 cars in the United States (detail below), an increase of 6 percent. For the year, PCNA also set a record in the United States, having sold 31,933 cars compared to 31,473, a record set in 2004.

"The Porsche Cayenne SUV range held its own in a marketplace of incentives, and Porsche's renewed sports cars thrived, despite lower consumer confidence and natural disasters, " said Peter Schwarzenbauer, PCNA President and CEO. "There are more new Porsches coming, the Cayman S fixed-roof sports car that goes on sale this Jan. 14, and the Cayenne Turbo S announced today at the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show."

In addition, U.S. dealers sold 489 Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned vehicles, compared to 360 for the same period last year. Year-to-date, sales reached 5,488 for 2005 compared to 4,376 in 2004.
