Subaru South Central Region Posts Record Sales

ATLANTA, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Subaru of America, Inc. national sales soared in July, posting an all-time July sales high of 18,923 units, rising 5 percent from the same period last year. The Subaru South Central Region, geographically the largest sales region for Subaru, posted record July sales totaling 2,115 vehicles, up 12 percent over the previous July.
"We are extremely pleased to see the increase in our sales volume and we thank the Subaru dealers in the region for their outstanding efforts in July," said Rick Blanken, regional vice president, Subaru South Central Region, Subaru of America, Inc. "Customers are choosing Subaru because it is an environmentally conscious manufacturer that offers strong fuel economy, exhilarating driving performance and go-anywhere capability coupled with industry-leading active and passive safety that comes standard with our Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive."

Regional Sales Highlights

Subaru of Jacksonville led the nation this month in sales volume with sales up 59 percent from the same period last year. The South Central Region also led the nation this month in the number of Subaru B9 Tribeca vehicles sold. Subaru Legacy and Impreza models posted double-digit gains in the region for the month; and Atlanta, Miami and Tampa showed the strongest metro market sales increases.

Total US Subaru Sales by Model Line

The Subaru Legacy posted very strong results, up 11 percent with 8,301 units in July, fueled by Subaru Outback sales of 5,974 units for the month. Subaru Forester recorded 4,492 units, while Baja posted 496 units in July. Subaru Impreza continues its incredible sales year, posting a record 21 percent increase over the previous July, totaling 4,014 units. Subaru B9 Tribeca also posted a strong 1,620 units for the month.
