Jun 28, 2006 -- Subaru has ranked highly in the latest J.D. Power Vehicle Ownership Satisfaction Study conducted in New Zealand, in association with the Automobile Association of New Zealand (AA).
According to the NZ AA, the study presents an objective measure of vehicle ownership satisfaction for automotive manufacturers and consumers, based on owners’ experiences with their vehicles in four areas: vehicle quality and reliability, vehicle appeal (which measures satisfaction with the design, style, performance and comfort of the vehicle), service and ownership costs.

In the Purchased New category, Subaru ranked first for quality and reliability, with 894 points, ahead of Honda (891) and Toyota (875).

Subaru ranked second for vehicle appeal and vehicle service satisfaction, and third for new car owner satisfaction.

A total of 14,838 vehicle owners from among NZ AA members were surveyed online.

This included 2665 owners of vehicles purchased new, and 12,173 owners of used vehicles.

The online survey was conducted between 29 November 2005 and 9 January 2006.
