The designs, limited to 150 of each, have been influenced by traditional British ‘motoring club’ badges and can clip securely onto the front of car grilles or stand alone as stylish collectable items. The badges have been manufactured in the UK, are made of a waterproofed brass and copper mix and retail at £39. They will be on sale from Saturday 13 December in Simon Carter’s stores in Covent Garden and the Quadrant Arcade (off Regent Street) in London, King Street in Manchester as well as via his website www.simoncarter.net. The badges will also be available from Vauxhall at 01582 427 108 or grillebadges@gm.com Simon Carter said, “The grille badge is a British design classic. This project aims to resurrect the badge from the clutches of autojumbles and recovery services and give it a fresh, modern twist. Simon Carter menswear and accessories is all about attention to detail – I set out to bring this focus on detail to the project and I am pleased with the results.” The Simon Carter brand is globally synonymous with high quality, British-designed menswear injected with a contemporary lightness of touch. Personally, Simon Carter has a keen interest in the heritage of British brands and is also a car enthusiast, with particular interest in collecting vintage British cars. |
