Ahead of this Sundays highly anticipated Vauxhall Motors Bowling Club, the car company has provided a sneak preview of three specially designed vehicles to be showcased at the event in East London. For one day only, Vauxhall Motors is re-opening its original bowling club, which started more than a century ago in 1905. The Brick Lane location in London will this week undergo a major transformation into a professional standard bowling green. Guests will be greeted by a multi-coloured club house, psychedelic English garden flowers, picnic food, ice cream, celebrity host Rick Edwards (T4), DJing by Matt Horne and Toddla T, and live music from Man Like Me.
Special four-wheeled art commissions showcased on the day will include a grass image covered Corsa, which will house the event scoreboard and a convertible Astra Twintop; Vauxhalls streamlined version of the classic ice cream van with a twist. A New Astra created by brilliant illustrator Jamie Cullum, who has also designed the events eye catching logo, will complete the colourful trio.
Jamie Cullum has been added to the recent list of high profile designers (including Emma Bell, Kate Moross and Si Scott) to customise the Griffin logo and a car for one of Vauxhalls stylish events. Well known for his bright and bold designs which incorporate layers of visual discovery with emerging hidden elements, Jamie has created the ultimate retro-inspired event crest for the Vauxhall Motors Bowling Club. These works of car art will all be joined by a magnificent heritage F Type Victor on the green.
Vauxhall continue its long-standing relationship with up-and-coming top British design talents and have worked with a force of Creatives for the event, including Fashion Designer Tansy Hamley and Art Directing duo, Jiggery Pokery.
