With the opening of the BMW Welt on 17 October 2007, BMW established a new architectural milestone in Munich. At the same time it created a venue for dialogue and unforgettable experiences. A truly multi-functional building, the BMW Welt offers a wide range of programmes and encounters. With around two million visitors annually, it is one of the most popular attractions in Munich.

BMW has been based in the north of Munich and operated production facilities there since 1918. Now guests from all over the world are able to experience the world of BMW even more intensely " from the latest trends and exhibitions through technical highlights and design features to the emotions of the customers who are able to collect their new car in the BMW Welt.

As a building and an institution, the BMW Welt serves as an important interface between the company, the brand, its products and the visitor. This is the only place which is able to offer an overall, all-round experience of the companys past, present and future. Together with the BMW Plant and the BMW Museum, the BMW Welt forms a logical whole: the overall BMW experience. The proximity of this unique building with its futuristic architecture to all important areas of BMWs Munich location, combined with the opportunity of visiting the BMW Museum and taking a guided tour of the Plant on the same day, creates this all-round experience. The BMW Welt represents the social commitment, the sense of responsibility and the clear commitment of the BMW Group to its Munich location.

The BMW Welt is not just a highlight for tourists to Munich - with its progressive architecture, it also marks a milestone. At its core is the individualised and highly personal delivery of cars to their new owners.

As well as the exclusive presentation of the latest vehicle model series and motorcycles, interactive exhibits offer an insight into BMW research, development, design and production " providing the opportunity to ex¬perience the BMW brand and the Company from virtually every perspective.

The BMW Welt also features its own Event Forum equipped with state-of-the-art technology for events of all kinds, making it an ideal venue for concerts, exhibitions, conferences and live broadcasts, as well as receptions and seminars.

The range of catering and dining services is extremely versatile: The BMW Welt features a restaurant, a bistro and a coffee shop, as well as a wide variety of shops. The Junior Campus, a special, independent encounter area that makes use of the latest scientific findings in child and youth studies, caters to children aged between 7 and 13. This is where children and young people are able to discover “mobility with all their senses in a funny way.

The BMW Museum was constructed next door to the BMW Building in 1973. The concept of the new BMW Museum, which reopened on 21 June 2008 with five times its previous exhibition area, focuses on the fascination of the BMW brand and its characteristics of dynamic performance, sportiness, and passion. The Museum uses approximately 120 original exhibits, a special path that guides visitors through 25 separate exhibition areas and new presentation technologies to showcase the brands 90-year history. The central path through the Museum guides visitors through time and space, presenting a wide range of cross-cutting themes and individual highlights to 400,000 visitors a year. A multitude of different perspectives, surprising insights and outlooks, as well as large-format exhibitions highlight the dramatic qualities of the Museum.

The BMW Plant Munich is the original BMW Group Plant. It combines the highest level of engineering and human innovation with its employees genuine passion for the brand. As part of the BMW Groups global production network, BMW Plant Munich builds up to 1,000 BMW 3 Series (Touring and Sedan) and more than 1,000 power units a day. This includes straight-six, eight-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, high-performance M-engines for the M3, M5, and M6, as well as twelve-cylinders. The BMW Plant Munich employs a workforce of around 9,000 people from more than 50 countries, including approximately 700 apprentices. BMW Plant Munich encompasses all automobile production technologies: a Press Shop, Body Shop, Paint Shop, Engine Shop, and Assembly, as well as a Tool-making Shop, the Production of Equipment and Seats. It belongs to the Groups global production network of 24 plants in 12 countries, and as part of the BMW Welt, also serves as a “window on the world of BMW production. Individual tours provide a unique and authentic insight into automobile production.
