All-new exterior and interior design brings new refinement and is combined with a more confident, dynamic driving experience and a comprehensive range of safety, comfort, convenience and entertainment features. With a starting MSRP of just $12,950, the fuel efficient Aveo sedan represents outstanding value. Its 1.6L 16-valve E-TEC II DOHC engine delivers 103 horsepower and 107 lb.-ft. of torque with a smooth-shifting five-speed manual transmission. A four-speed automatic transmission is available with adaptive shift technology to maximize fuel savings and also features a segment-exclusive Hold Control Mode enabling drivers to hold a higher gear to improve traction on slippery road surfaces. The base Aveo sedan LS model also includes as standard: dual stage front air bags with frontal passenger sensing system, auxiliary input for iPods, MP3 players and other devices, AM/FM stereo with single CD and MP3 playback capability and 4-speakers, driver seat with lumbar support and armrest, tilt steering, a fully-reclining front passenger seat and 60/40-split folding rear seat. A wide track results in agile and responsive handling which is enhanced by front MacPherson strut and rear semi-independent with torsion beam suspension. Vented front disc and rear drum brakes and stainless steel exhaust also come standard. A sporty RS Special Edition package is also available, which adds even more content (available on both LS and LT models) including 15-inch aluminum wheels, trunk mounted spoiler, 6-speaker premium sound system, steering wheel mounted audio controls and an Apple iPod™. The RS Special Edition package is available as a free-flow option on both models at $1,095.
