Chevrolet Strikes A Pose at The Third Annual Fashion Rocks 2006

* R&B sensation Rihanna to perform onstage with Corvette Z06

DETROIT (2006-09-08) – Chevrolet has partnered with Condé Nast Media Group as the exclusive automotive sponsor of Fashion Rocks™ , a multi-media celebration of music, pop culture and fashion. Chevrolet’s sponsorship includes broadcast integration, special Chevy spreads in the Fashion Rocks™ magazine, and Chevy messaging throughout Fashion Rocks™ media including TV, print, radio, online and out-of-home.
The Chevy Corvette Z06 will be integrated into the Fashion Rocks™ broadcast, appearing onstage during R&B star Rihanna’s performance and accompanied by a montage of Chevrolet images and video clips that will be shown on screen.

Three years ago we joined Condé Nast in pioneering Fashion Rocks™ because it provided the opportunity for Chevrolet to be on the cutting edge of a marketing strategy that had never been done before, said Kim Kosak, Chevrolet general director of advertising and promotions. It’s become bigger each year and it provides Chevrolet a unique, innovative platform to showcase our great cars and trucks in a cool, unconventional way.

Chevrolet’s most popular vehicles, paired with some of today’s hottest stars, are featured in special Chevy spreads featured throughout the Fashion Rocks™ onsert, which for 2006, was under the editorial direction of Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour, and edited by Jonathan Van Meter. The onsert is packaged with the September issues of 17 Condé Nast titles. It is also available on newsstands in select markets as a stand-alone publication. Artists include Anthony Hamilton, Ne-Yo, The Pussycat Dolls and Rihanna, featured with the Chevy Avalanche, Cobalt, Corvette, HHR, Impala SS and Tahoe.

Chevrolet’s sponsorship also includes radio spots, online advertising, a spread in the event program and messaging appearing on New York City busses. In addition to the onstage show integration, Chevy also will be featured during the broadcast with eight thirty-second spots, five five-second billboards and a special, Chevy-sponsored segment exploring the relationship between fashion and music.

Featuring performances by Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé , The Black Eyed Peas, Bon Jovi, Jamie Foxx, Nelly Furtado, Faith Hill, Jay-Z, Elton John, Tim McGraw, The Pussycat Dolls, Rihanna, Scissor Sisters, Kanye West and Jay-Z, Fashion Rocks™ will be broadcast on Friday, September 8 (9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. ET) on the CBS Television Network. The star-studded event will be taped at Radio City Music Hall on September 7. This year’s show is curated by Elton John and will raise money for the Elton John’s AIDS Foundation.
