MIAMI, FL (2006-09-15)- Sandra Jaitt was the lucky winner of the Connect with Cobalt Power 96 Sweepstakes, beating out thousands of participants from Dade and Broward counties and taking home a custom 2006 Supercharged Chevy Cobalt SS at the drawing held Saturday, September 9, at Maroone Pembroke Pines Chevrolet, in Pembroke Pines, Florida.
96 finalists had each received a pre-recorded CD at the grand finale hosted by renowned Power 96 DJ Laz. One-by-one, contestants climbed into the Cobalt and inserted their disc into the player hoping to hear that they were the grand prize winner. With only four contestants left, Sandra's hands visibly trembled as she struggled to insert the CD into the player. Her nervousness instantly turned to unbridled joy when the recording proclaimed that she was the winner of the 2006 Supercharged Chevy Cobalt SS. "I can't believe I won the Cobalt and...on my birthday!" she announced to the gathering of almost 200 people.

The contest was the brainchild of Sonia Maria Green, Florida Director, General Motors, and Power 96. "We wanted to showcase the Cobalt among Power 96's listeners and continue the momentum of our Cobalt TV ad campaign featuring music by reggaeton superstar Daddy Yankee and the voice of DJ Laz," said Ms. Green. "We found that Power 96's audience was very receptive, with over 5,000 listeners registering to participate." Power 96 promoted the contest on-air, on-line, at malls, clubs, and at Chevy dealers since it was announced July 19, 2006.

The 2006 Supercharged Chevy Cobalt SS came fully tricked-out with top-of-the-line accessories from GM's catalogue. Equipped to move, its 205-horsepower all-aluminum dual overhead cam, four-cylinder engine is built off the strengths of the original, naturally aspirated 2.2L ECOTEC engine. The Eaton M62 supercharger spins at a low rpm, which improves durability and creates less noise while allowing for plenty of top-end power. Power delivery of the supercharged engine is instantaneous. Maximum boost of the supercharger is 12 psi. The Cobalt's interior boasts leather-appointed seating in Ebony with Yellow perforated inserts on the front seats.
