-Chevrolet, The Coca-Cola Company, McDonald's, Gatorade, and Molten Ink New Deals-LAS VEGAS, NV (2006-08-03) - USA Basketball has formed new agreements with five marketers - Chevrolet, The Coca-Cola Company, McDonald's, Gatorade, and Molten - to promote their brands and products through USA Basketball exhibitions, games, media and special events."USA Basketball is committed to representing our country with pride, dedication, and hard work," said Val Ackerman, USA Basketball President. Chevrolet, a division of General Motors, will promote its brand through exhibition games, special events and USA Basketball's Red, White & Hoops Tour presented by State Farm. At the interactive fan tour traveling throughout the United States, Chevy will showcase interactive vehicle displays as well as sponsor the Slam Dunk Contest. Chevrolet will also advertise during televised USA Basketball games, and provide Chevy vehicles for U.S.-based training camp sessions. The Coca-Cola Company will partner with USA Basketball to reach teens around the world. Coca-Cola will engage young people through digital platforms, advertise during televised USA Basketball games and conduct promotions in China, Korea and the Philippines. Coca-Cola will also be involved in USA Basketball Hoops for Troops presented by State Farm, where the U.S. military visits USA Basketball practices, exhibition games, clinics and autograph sessions, in the United States, Korea and Japan. McDonald's will be conducting USA Basketball themed promotions in China and South Korea. In Guangzhou, McDonald's will be providing a combo meal that will give fans a chance to win tickets to the 2006 China Basketball Challenge, where USA will play games against China on Aug. 7 and Brazil on Aug. 8 in Guangzhou marking the first time a USA Basketball Men's Senior National Team comprised of NBA players has played in China. In Korea, McDonald's is conducting an internet promotion for tickets to a USA Basketball game in Seoul. McDonald's will also conduct a promotion titled "USA Basketball Enduring Moments presented by McDonald's" that will be featured during game telecasts. Gatorade is conducting retail promotions in China and Korea with Dwyane Wade appearing on 20 million bottles of the sports drink in China as part of the "Explore the Dream and Win" promotion that will allow fans to win tickets to the China Basketball Challenge. Molten Worldwide Distributing will be promoting its Federation Internationale de Basketball (FIBA) approved basketball. The unique 12 panel ball with two tones allowing for it to be highly noticeable on television, is the official game and practice ball of USA Basketball. Through the partnership, USA Basketball will use the Molten ball for all practices and exhibition games. Chevrolet, The Coca-Cola Company, Gatorade, McDonald's, and Molten join State Farm and Nike as USA Basketball marketing partners. The senior men's team will conduct its first exhibition game tonight in Las Vegas against Puerto Rico followed by games in Guangzhou and Seoul, South Korea before competing in the FIBA World Championships in Japan starting on Aug. 19.
