September sales totaled 33,384, down 13 percent compared with September 2005 due to limited availability of all-new Accents and Elantras. Plant slowdowns this summer in Korea and strong worldwide demand for these vehicles contributed to this situation. "The national advertising campaign for the all-new Santa Fe is raising awareness and increasing dealer traffic and our retail sales were very strong," said Mark Barnes, vice president, National Sales, Hyundai Motor America. "Inventory shortages of the all-new Accent three-door and lack of availability of the all-new Elantra certainly depressed sales this month. We just announced pricing for the all-new Elantra and we are currently making first allocations to dealers as we speak." All Hyundai vehicles sold in the U.S. are covered by The Hyundai Advantage, America's Best Warranty. Hyundai buyers are protected by a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, a 7-year/unlimited-mile anti-perforation warranty and 5-year/unlimited-mile roadside assistance protection.
