Hyundai Reports Best Sales Month Ever

Elantra Breaks All-Time Monthly Retail Sales Record

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., August 2, 2005 -- U.S. customers purchased or leased 44,431 cars and sport utilities from Hyundai Motor America in July, setting a new all-time, single-month sales record for the company. Sales were up 11 percent compared with a year ago. The Hyundai Elantra broke its own all-time monthly record with retail sales of 13,050, beating the previous record of 12,828 units set in August of 2003.
"July was a very strong month for Elantra, eclipsing its own retail sales record," said Ed Bradley Hyundai vice president, National Sales. "Our sport utilities along with Sonata turned in a solid performance. Our lead in quality, value, performance and standard safety features, as evidenced by Sonata's recent first place victory over Accord and Camry in the Inside Line comparison test by Edmunds.com, is paying off."

All Hyundai cars and sport utility vehicles sold in the U.S. are covered by The Hyundai Advantage, America's Best Warranty. Hyundai buyers are protected by a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, a 7-year/unlimited-mile anti-perforation warranty and 5-year/unlimited-mile roadside assistance protection.
