New 2007 Hyundai Tiburon, 2007 Hyundai Elantra and 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe Make SEMA Show DebutsLAS VEGAS, Oct. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Seven distinct Hyundai show vehicles turned the heads of the industry's most creative and influential young tuners at this year's Specialty Equipment Manufacturer's Association show. In its sixth year at SEMA, Hyundai showed off seven recently-introduced models spanning its entire product portfolio, proving that customization is not just for sport compacts anymore.
The refreshed 2007 Tiburon SE topped the list of must see-cars at the show. Track-inspired styling and handling, redesigned front and rear fascia, headlights, taillights, hood, front fenders and exhaust tips, electronic stability control, and cross-drilled brake rotors are just a few of the enhancements Hyundai has made to the '07 Tiburon. With all the new design elements, Tiburon remains a perfect canvas for the creative aftermarket crowed.

Another crowd favorite is sure to be the new for '07 Accent three-door. Decked out with Hyundai original aftermarket accessories, K-Daddyz Kustomz took the compact car and created a street-savvy custom ride. Hyundai has been expanding its offering of aftermarket equipment, which includes both aesthetic and performance equipment, that gives owners the tools to customize their vehicles easily and affordably through Hyundai dealerships.

"Hyundai vehicles are a great platform for auto enthusiasts who enjoy customization," said John Krafcik, vice president of Strategic Planning and Product Development. "Hyundai's assertive and expressive design direction and wide array of available accessories works nicely in the aftermarket, while our overall value position is especially enticing to the younger buyers that dominate this consumer group."

K-Daddyz Kustomz

K-Daddyz Kustomz participated with Hyundai for the fourth consecutive year. Kyle "K-Daddy" Gann brought an Azera, three-door Accent and Entourage minivan to display in the Hyundai booth.

The race-inspired K-Daddy Accent begs to be noticed. With bold DuPont Hot Hues like Iguana Run and Amazing Grape, it's hard to walk by without staring. Once it has your attention, the K-Daddyz Accent goes a step further with outrageous Lamborghini-style doors. Inside, nitrous bottles promise break-neck acceleration, but the driver is protected by a custom roll cage. And just in case style isn't enough, the Accent is outfitted with a monster Infinity audio system which screams for attention.

At the opposite end of the Hyundai line up, the understated Azera sedan offered a different challenge to K-Daddyz designers. The design objective for Gann and his crew was to make people ask, "Is that a Hyundai?" With design elements like custom side air vents, shaved door handles and a custom front grille, it would be easy to confuse the Azera with a six-figure European sport sedan. But the lowered suspension, DuPont Hot Hues paint scheme, 20-inch wheels and suicide rear doors give away the fact that this jewel is all custom.

Finally, proving that Gann and his crew will take on any project to get noticed at SEMA, the K-Daddyz Kustomz Entourage minivan truly offers a fresh take on tuning. With a paint scheme designed for universal appeal and an interior that offers as much comfort as it does entertainment, what family wouldn't want to cruise in this contemporary twist on the classic mom-mobile?

Street Concepts

A long-time Hyundai tuner, Shawn Williams from Street Concepts, delivered a custom 2007 redesigned Tiburon and a Sonata sedan.

The long-time tuner favorite Tiburon was refreshed for 2007, but still makes the perfect canvas for modifying. The Street Concepts Tiburon was designed to accent the new sheet metal with a two-tone paint scheme. But under the hood, Street Concepts went further with performance-enhancing modifications like an Injen intake, high performance exhaust system and ARK strut tower bar. Interior add-ons included an Infinity(R) sound system, Kenwood head unit, iPod interface and navigation, HD radio, XM radio with live traffic updates, Kicker wiring products, Momo steering wheel and carbon fiber accents.

The design of the Sonata was meant to demonstrate that a clean, simple sedan can still be very cool. Street Concepts added a full Studie body kit from Korea to give the Sonata a sporty exterior stance, and then coated the vehicle in an elegant black metallic paint scheme which adds a sense of refinement. Inside, the Sonata goes from elegant to luxurious with meticulous attention to detail. The interior is adorned with ample suede inserts throughout the vehicle, and custom painted dash accents match the exterior paint scheme. For audiophiles, the Sonata includes a Kenwood audio system equipped with XM Satellite Radio, and for commuters, the Street Concepts Sonata adds a Kenwood navigation system which includes real-time traffic updates.

Both cars have custom paint jobs by Fix Auto Collision, AXIX 19x8-inch and 19x9.5-inch Hiro wheels with Toyo 235/35R19 Proxes T1-R tires, and Eibach springs. Sonata also received a Brembo Big Brake kit.

Troy Lee Designs

Troy Lee Designs, known for its custom-design racing helmets, sports equipment and apparel, applied its unique artistry to a Hyundai Santa Fe. The painters at Troy Lee merged three distinct paint illusions to create tension between futuristic and industrial design. The paint scheme includes realistic-looking airbrushed flames, hard lines and shadows, and freehand brush strokes. Lamborghini reverse-opening doors create a dramatic entrance to the vehicle, and once inside, leather seats match the exterior graphic scheme. The driver will also enjoy the high-end audio system powered by Infinity.

Christopher David Martin

And finally, working for the first time with Hyundai, David Martin and BP Racing transformed the redesigned Elantra into a sleek, race-inspired show car with striking bright yellow paint, detailed graphics and an AIT Racing Wondrous bodykit that highlights the aggressive styling already evident on the Elantra. Martin envisioned the Elantra for the weekend warrior. In doing so he outfitted the interior with cool, black Cobra Sidewinder racing seats with gray inserts, racing pedals and harness system. The Infinity audio system rounded out the interior with Kappa components.

These seven custom Hyundai vehicles will be on display at booth #24087 and around the Las Vegas Convention Center from October 31 - November 3.
