Production to Begin in October of Two-Wheel-Drive Crew Cab and Five-Cylinder Extended Cab Models

CERRITOS, Calif., Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Isuzu Motors America, Inc., announced today that it will add two new models to its award-winning line of pickup trucks. The Isuzu i-370 4x2 Extended Cab and the Isuzu i-370 4x2 Crew Cab will join the already announced Isuzu i-290 4x2 Extended Cab and the Isuzu i-370 4x4 Crew Cab to double the size of the 2007 Isuzu Pickup lineup.
The i-370 4x2 Extended Cab brings five-cylinder power to Isuzu's extended-cab body style for the first time, while the i-370 4x2 Crew Cab puts crew cab spaciousness in a new two-wheel-drive configuration.

Both models will be powered by a Vortec 3700 3.7-liter inline five-cylinder engine developing 242 horsepower and 242 foot-pounds of torque mated to a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Other standard equipment includes power windows, power door locks, power outside mirrors, remote keyless entry, and body side moldings.

The i-370 4x2 Extended Cab's optional Luxury package will provide consumers with such features as AM/FM stereo with six-disc in-dash CD changer, sliding rear window, fog lamps, electronic traction control and limited slip differential. The i-370 4x2 Crew Cab's optional Limited package will include all of those features plus leather seating surfaces, eight-way power heated driver's seat and six-way power heated front passenger seat.

Both new models will be protected by the longest powertrain limited warranty and matching roadside assistance available on any pickup truck in America -- seven years or 75,000 miles, whichever comes first.

In announcing the new models, J. Terry Maloney, president and COO of Isuzu Motors America, said, "Some of our customers have said they needed the room of a crew cab but without the off-highway capability of four-wheel drive. And some of our customers have asked for the extra power of a five-cylinder engine in the versatile extended-cab body style. These new models address both of those needs and make our line of Isuzu Pickups more appealing to more consumers than ever."

Production is scheduled to begin in October 2006. Pricing will be announced shortly.
