Vancouver, BC, Sept. 1, 2005 – An event like no other challenging the driving skills of 200 amateur golfers will result in one driving away in a Jaguar S-TYPE R or a Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE.
The 2005 Ultimate Shoot-Out Vancouver is a unique event where a regulation-size, 6700 square foot floating golf green, outfitted with bunkers, sand traps and premium grade turf is positioned approximately 175 yards to west off the tip of Canada Place, giving the qualifying golfers a chance to be, "the last man standing" to win either the Jaguar or the Land Rover.

For the ultimate drive, the winner will have the choice of two ultimate drives: the Jaguar S-TYPE R and the Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE. For the ultimate in sports sedan handling, the Jaguar S-TYPE R answers the call. With a Manufacturer's suggested retail price of $90,395 the Jaguar S-TYPE R's ability to go fast is equally matched by its ability to stop and offers outstanding vehicle stability, comfort, state-of-the-art technology and luxury.

Equally luxurious and sporty is the all-new Land Rover Range Rover HSE. With a Manufacturer's suggested retail price of $77,800, the Range Rover Sport HSE is a high-performance SUV with dynamic ability and exceptional comfort. Designed for fast, long distance driving.

"It's going to be exciting to see how the competition plays out," said Gary Moyer, president of Jaguar Land Rover Canada. "The winner will have to choose between two great vehicles – a nice problem to have, but how is he or she going to choose?"

Each of the 200 golfers will be put through a demanding match play qualifying session that will see 36 golfers earn their way into the Ultimate Shoot-Out Finals.

This is an event specifically designed for the average golfer to have a unique opportunity to compete in a televised event and live the dream of pro-golfer for a day.
