Kia’s 2005 SEMA vehicles mark the company’s fourth year as an exhibitor at the SEMA show. Last year, after the Spectra and Spectra5 concepts that debuted at the SEMA Show received a favorable response from consumers and aftermarket partners, Kia developed several dealer-installed accessories that are now available for the compact sedan and five-door, including a cat-back exhaust system and a “Tuner” ground effects kit for the sedan.
“Next generation products such as the Rio, Sportage and Spectra have begun to firmly establish Kia as a legitimate option in the ever-growing world of aftermarket customization,” said Ian Beavis, Kia Motors America’s vice president, marketing. “Following the success we found after last year’s SEMA Show, we are actively developing accessories for both the all-new Rio and Sportage based in part on what is being displayed here in Las Vegas.”
Wrapped in a two-tone gold candy paint scheme, the "Solid Gold" Kia Sportage is outfitted with custom-built vertical-opening doors, a hydraulic suspension system that can raise and lower all four wheels independently, and a 2,000-watt audio/video system complete with navigation, DVD and satellite television capabilities and headrest monitors. The addition of a Magnuson supercharger has increased to an estimated to 265-horsepower.
