With their Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, the renowned German automobile brand is continuing its commitment to the most important, trend-setting fashion events. As partner of this fashion event, together with the City of Berlin, Mercedes-Benz is supporting the organiser IMG in their efforts to establish the new four-day series of fashion shows which will be taking place for the first time next July at the Brandenburger Tor exhibition grounds. Renowned international fashion designers, who will be showing their latest fashion ideas in Berlin, are a guarantee that the event will be of the highest standard. In addition, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin will be providing creative young designers with an important platform to attract attention to their creations. For some years now, Mercedes-Benz has been actively taking part at important fashion events. As early as spring 2001, the premium automobile brand was involved in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York, and the fashion world is eagerly awaiting this year's event, which will be taking place from 2nd to 9th February at Bryant Park. Mercedes-Benz is continually expanding its close contacts with the world of fashion. The automobile manufacturer already supports fashion events in Los Angeles, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Mexico, Venezuela and Canada. Mercedes-Benz was also involved in a strategic cooperation with the designer legend Giorgio Armani, during which the fashion designer from Milan created the Mercedes-Benz CLK designo by Giorgio Armani. Mercedes-Benz decided to become involved with the world of fashion as design and style also play a central role in creating new automobiles and are among the most important factors contributing to the success of the brand. "Mercedes-Benz stands, and has always stood, for elegance and design – and this is true not just for automobiles," said Dr. Olaf Göttgens, Vice President Brand Communications Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars. "Our commitment as title sponsor of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin is therefore a logical consequence for our brand." An unmistakeable style which underlines one's own individuality is what most people want both from their cars as well as from they wear. Social influences are therefore just as noticeable on the catwalk as they are on the drawing boards of the car designers. The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin is creating a new platform combining emotion and experience and will arouse enthusiasm for new ideas about stylish, visionary design among its visitors.
