Mercedes-Benz USA Reports 17,304 New Vehicle Sales in February 2007

MONTVALE, N.J., March 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported its February sales of 17,304 new vehicles, a marginal decrease from February 2006 (MBUSA's highest February on record). This brings MBUSA's year-to-date total to 34,373 new vehicles, an increase of 15.2 percent over the same period in 2006.

Passenger car sales totaled 11,890 units, with the company's volume model lines Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Mercedes-Benz E-Class leading the pack for a combined 30.9 percent increase over February 2006 (6,921 v. 5,286). Highlights for the month also included a 12.8 percent increase in volume for the Mercedes-Benz M-Class family of luxury light trucks (2,431 v. 2,155) and a 212.7 percent increase in sales of the unique luxury SUV Mercedes-Benz G-Class (172 v. 55).
Sales for Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the luxury light truck segment continue to exhibit a strong performance as a group with a 15.7 percent increase over February 2006.

Separately, the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned vehicle program reported sales of 3,910 units, an increase of 13 percent compared to last February, bringing the year-to-date total to 7,519 units, a 15.2 percent increase over the same period in 2006.
