Nissan Announces Management Changes

TOKYO (March 16, 2006) – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today announced changes to its senior management team in Japan. All changes are effective April 1, 2006.
“Through new talent and the depth of our management, we will sustain our long-term profitable growth,” said Nissan President and CEO Carlos Ghosn. “Meeting all the commitments of the Nissan Value-Up business plan is very challenging. It will be the quality, focus and energy of our people that will make the difference between success and failure,” continued Ghosn.

Senior Vice Presidents

- Hidetoshi Imazu, senior vice president, manufacturing and industrial engineering division, is appointed senior vice president, vehicle production engineering division. Imazu succeeds Sadao Sekiyama, who is proposed as executive vice president, Kinugawa Rubber.
- Shiro Nakamura, senior vice president, design, is appointed senior vice president and chief creative officer. His responsibilities now include design and brand management.
- Shigeo Shingyouji, vice president, purchasing Renault Nissan Purchasing Organization (RNPO), is promoted to senior vice president, purchasing, RNPO.
- Yoshiaki Watanabe, regional vice president, Oppama Plant, is promoted to senior vice president, manufacturing and industrial engineering division, succeeding Imazu.

Corporate Vice Presidents

Nine managers will be newly appointed as corporate vice presidents and become corporate officers. All current vice presidents will also be named as corporate vice presidents. Five corporate officers will retire or leave the company.

- Emmanuel Delay, general manager, budget and accounting, is promoted to corporate vice president, budget and accounting, capital expenditure controller and global control process planning.
- Akihiro Ishiwatari, vice president, after sales, Nissan Europe, returns to Japan and is promoted to corporate vice president, supply chain management division.
- Thomas Lane, general manager, product strategy and product planning division, is promoted to corporate vice president, product strategy and product planning division.
- Gilles Normand, managing director, Nissan Spain, will be transferred to Japan and will be promoted to corporate vice president, marketing and sales, global overseas markets with specific responsibilities for Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
- Toshiharu Sakai, regional vice president, Yokohama plant, is promoted to corporate vice president, powertrain production engineering division
- Akira Sato, vice president, treasury, is appointed corporate vice president, domestic sales network management and president of Nissan Real Estate Co., Ltd.
- Atsushi Shizuta, deputy division general manager, research and development resources management division, is promoted to corporate vice president, R&D engineering management division.
- Joji Tagawa, general manager, investor relations department, is promoted to corporate vice president, global treasurer and also continues his responsibility for investor relations.
- Thierry Viadieu, general manager, corporate planning department, is promoted to corporate vice president, corporate planning department, including responsibility for corporate benchmarking.
- Yasuhiro Yamauchi, general manager, parts and material purchasing department, is promoted to corporate vice president, project purchasing and vehicle parts purchasing.
