Chad Hord Takes Podium Twice in Pro-Lite, Leads Pro-Lite Season Points; Schmitt Gets First Pro-Lite Podium Finish of 2006GARDENA, Calif. (June 27, 2006) – Nissan Motorsports continued the 2006 Championship Off-Road Racing (CORR) season with strong finishes on June 24-25 at the 2006 Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run Races at the 1.47-mile Crandon International Off Road Raceway in Crandon, Wisconsin.Nissan Finishes Strong in Crandon CORR Event Felch, Mich.-based Chad Hord finished second in both Saturday’s Round Three and Sunday’s Round Four Pro Lite races, giving him four total second-place finishes this season in Pro-Lite and the lead in the 2006 Pro-Lite standings in his Nissan Frontier-bodied race truck. Hord leads the standings by seven points. Veteran pilot Art Schmitt, out of Pittsburgh, Penn., driving the number 8 Frontier-bodied race truck, got his first Pro-Lite podium finish with a third-place run in the June 25 Round Four event. “Our strong runs in Pro-Lite certainly display the skills of the teams and the toughness of the Nissan Frontier-bodied race trucks,” said Ron Stukenberg, senior manager, Nissan Motorsports marketing and operations. “In only the forth round of the 2006 CORR season, Chad has already captured the Pro-Lite points lead and Art is on the podium. Both of them are certainly able to contend for the 2006 championship.” Race Summaries The weekend featured more than 20 strong Pro-Lite competitors, with full fields in all events. In Round Three Pro-Lite action, after adapting to the new clay surface of the Crandon track, Hord worked through traffic to chalk up his third second-place finish of the season. In Sunday’s Round Four, once clear of the field, Hord and Schmitt dueled for the second spot. Although Hord was under unbelievable pressure applied by Schmitt, Hord managed to hold him off. The next CORR Pro-series event is scheduled for July 8-9 in Bark River, Michigan. Championship Off-Road Racing (CORR) combines close, fender-to-fender racing on challenging closed course dirt tracks in the Midwest and Southern California. Now in its 9th season, CORR is arguably the largest and most watched off-road racing series in North America. Races will be televised on the SPEED Channel.
