Vauxhall Vivaro Named Van of the Year in United Kingdom Review

Birmingham/Luton, England (2006-04-27) -- The renowned British specialist magazine, “Professional Van and Light Truck”, has named the Vivaro “Van of the Year 2006”.

United Kindom's Van of the Year: Vivaro

The successful van in the 2.8 ton class was first launched in 2001. Its largest market is the United Kingdom, where it is sold by Vauxhall, Opel’s British sister brand. The Vivaro also enjoys high customer popularity, with European sales in the first quarter of 2006 at 18,800 units, over 21 percent more than the same quarter last year (15,500 units).

As well as earning the title “Van of the Year”, the Vivaro also won the award for “Best Panel Van, 4.6 – 6.0 cubic meters”, while the larger Opel/Vauxhall Movano was named “Best Panel Van, 13.1 cubic meters and above”. The judging panel who awarded the prizes at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, England (April 25 – 27, 2006), was made up of automotive journalists, fleet managers and professional van drivers.
