The New Renault Modus and New Renault Grand Modus range has met with considerable success since its launch at the beginning of 2008. Sales of the brand's minispace and compact MPV reached almost 80,000 units in Europe in 2008, an increase of 30 per cent over 2007 (in the passenger car category). Meanwhile, the Modus family's share of the French market has risen by 65 per cent with more than 35,000 registrations. Renault Grand Modus accounted for some more than 50 per cent of Renault Modus sales in Europe in 2008, and 61 per cent in France. Renault seeks to build on this dynamic growth with the release of the two upper-range Exception limited editions.

The Exception limited edition is aimed at customers looking for a vehicle that combines elegance, comfort and safety. Based on the Dynamique version, Modus Exception and Grand Modus Exception feature 16-inch aluminium alloy wheels (15-inch aluminium alloy wheels in certain markets), leather/cloth upholstery, cruise control with speed limiter (depending on market), front and rear carpet mats (depending on market) and anodized satin-finish centre console and air-vent surrounds.
