24th Annual Saab Owner's Convention Scheduled for August 24-27 in Lake George, New York

Detroit , Mich. (2006-06-16) – The Saab Club of North America has announced that the 24th annual Saab Owners' Convention will be held August 24-27, 2006 in Lake George, New York. The host hotel will be the Roaring Brook Resort and Conference Center, located just Southwest of the village of Lake George. This all-inclusive family resort is situated in the world-famous Adirondack region. Go to www.saabconvention.org for more information and registration.
While vintage Saab fans may know Lake George for the ice racing activities during the winter months, Lake George has been named one of the eight top places in the nation for fun, affordable family vacations by SmartMoney Magazine. The event will again have something for everyone. In addition to Lake George, the area also lends itself to several fun side trips in the area including Ausible Canyon, Lake Placid and Fort Ticonderoga.

The 2006 Saab Owner’s Convention Committee will be chaired by Marc Fails. Beyond the events around the Concourse and People’s Award, notable activities scheduled for the convention include the ever popular autocross event and the dynamometer.

Local clubs supporting the Saab Club of North America in the hosting of this event include the New York Saab Owners Club, Central Pennsylvania Saab Club, Washington DC Saab Club and New England Saab Association as well as the Vintage Saab Club of North America.

Saab Automobile USA will again support the event by bringing a selection of the Saab heritage collection, plus some of its newest products. Jay Spenchian, Saab Automobile USA General Manager, is scheduled to deliver his keynote speech ‘State of Saab 2006’.
