“This is a whole new direction for Saturn,” said Dave McCall, GM of Canada’s Director of Marketing for Saturn. “The all-new Sky is a spectacular addition to an already impressive growing Saturn portfolio. In true Saturn fashion it blends the dynamic new design of our vehicles with a strong value proposition in its segment by offering an extensive list of standard features.” The Sky’s exterior features a strong front end that represents the new face of Saturn, with a pronounced fender peak and a bold, chrome bar that carries an integrated Saturn badge. It has a wide, muscular stance with short overhangs and 18-inch wheels pushed to the corners for a true sports car feel. This design philosophy carries through to the interior, which is driver-focused with integrated controls and displays. Creative use of piano black and chrome finishes combine with available leather seats and technical grains to emphasize richness, precision and a refined interior trim. Jewel-like detailing on the heating/air conditioning (HVAC) and lighting controls is executed with tight fits, highlighting the attention to detail. The 2007 Sky exudes athletic performance. It comes equipped with a standard Ecotec 2.4L DOHC four-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Timing (VVT) producing 177-horsepower and 166 lb.-ft. of torque. It is mated to a standard five-speed Aisin manual transmission with a short throw shifter or an available new five-speed automatic transmission providing a dynamic roadster experience. The Sky offers a host of additional standard features including four-wheel discs brakes with ABS and dynamic rear proportioning, four-wheel independent short/long arm (SLA) suspension with coil-over Bilstein monotube shocks, air conditioning, power windows, locks, mirrors, remote keyless entry, dual-stage driver and passenger airbags with Passenger Sensing System, AM/FM/CD stereo with auxiliary input jack for use with portable audio players, such as iPods, and a premium acoustic convertible top with glass rear window with defogger. The 2007 Sky will be available in Saturn showrooms across Canada in the summer of 2006. Following the Sky, Saturn will offer the all-new Saturn Aura midsize sedan and Outlook midsize crossover utility late in 2006.
