Volvo Cars' Best Suppliers of 2005 Awarded

Volvo Cars' five best suppliers were today presented with the Volvo Cars Award of Excellence at a ceremony in Göteborg.
From a total of some 6,000 suppliers, the following five have been awarded for their performance and contributions to Volvo Cars' business in 2005:

• Johnson Controls – for Seats & Inner Trim
• WM-data Caran – for Engineering Services
• Berendsen Textile Services – for Textile Services
• Lear Corporation – for Instrument Panel/Cockpit and EDS
• Novem Car Interior Design – for Deco Panels

"Quality is one of our cornerstones here at Volvo and you are an important part of that," said SVP Purchasing Albie van Buel before presenting the winning supplier representatives with awards, diplomas and flowers.

The Award of Excellence was first presented in 1991 to encourage a longstanding tradition of solid relationships between Volvo and its suppliers. Apart from the five winners, another 19 suppliers were rewarded as runner-ups.

Steve Armstrong, COO, Volvo Car Corporation gave a presentation of the achievements last year and the future challenges for Volvo Cars in which the suppliers play an important part.

"We need to continuously work closely with you in terms of quality and timing. It is all about team work."
