The all-new Chrysler Grand Voyager promises to be the most luxurious family vehicle ever when it launches in the UK in February 2008. The new seven-seat Chrysler Grand Voyager has an all-new exterior and interior design plus an updated range of petrol and diesel engines and boasts more than 30 new features which will help make the new 2008 model the ultimate family car. New features include heated first and second row seats; rear-view interior conversation mirror; a removable torch in the rear quarter panel; electric windows in the power sliding second-row doors; movable LED reading lamps and automatic three-zone climate control for all passengers.
To keep passengers entertained an optional dual-DVD system with two screens is available so second-row passengers can play a game or watch a different film to those in the third row while the MyGIG infotainment system offers MP3 player compatibility, a touch screen and voice-controlled navigation system as well being able to store up to approximately 1600 songs on an integrated 20GB hard drive.
Passenger safety is also well catered for. Traction control and ESP, tyre-pressure monitoring, front and all-row side-curtain airbags, as well as seven full-size seats with fixings for three Isofix child seats all come as standard across the range.
Simon Elliott, Managing Director of Chrysler UK Ltd, said: “The Grand Voyager is a firm favourite in the UK and the new model has all the right ingredients to make it the most successful Chrysler ever.
“Thousands of families already enjoy the benefits of the Stow ‘n Go seating system and as yet none of our competitors have been able to answer the one question that all MPV drivers have – ‘where do I put the seats when I don’t need them?’”
The Stow ‘n Go seating and storage system means the Grand Voyager can be transformed from a seven-passenger people carrier to a two-person cargo vehicle in less than 30 seconds. And because all of the seats store in the floor you don’t have to struggle to pull the seats out or find space in the garage to store them.
Simon Elliott added: “Offering the new vehicle, with all its features, refinements and an excellent diesel engine is only half the story. The new Chrysler MPV offers excellent value for money with prices starting from £25,995 – the same price as the previous generation model.
“Chrysler will also be offering the Swivel ‘n Go seating as an option for the first time on the Grand Voyager Limited. This new seating system will help make the Grand Voyager the ultimate family vehicle!”
The Swivel ’n Go seat system features second-row covered floor storage bins and second-row quad seats that swivel 180 degrees to face rearward for conversational seating. A removable table fits between the second and third rows. A one-touch power-stowing third-row seat with power recline can be adjusted into four different positions with a single push of a button.
The Chrysler Grand Voyager will be available with six-speed automatic transmission and either a 3.8-litre V-6 engine that produces 142 kW (193 hp DIN) at 5,200 rpm and 305 Nm (230 lb.-ft.) of torque at 4,000 rpm, or a 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine that produces 120 kW (163 hp DIN) at 3,800 rpm and 360 Nm (266 lb.-ft.) of torque at 1800 rpm. Three equipment levels – LX, Touring and Limited will be available and will be priced (on-the-road) as follows:
2.8 CRD LX 6-speed auto £25,995
2.8 CRD Touring 6-speed auto £27,995
2.8 CRD Limited 6-speed auto £32,995
3.8 V6 petrol Limited 6-speed auto £32,995
