The New Chrysler Names Deborah Wahl Meyer Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The New Chrysler today announced the appointment of Deborah Wahl Meyer to the position of Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, effective August 28.

Meyer, 44, will be responsible for the marketing and advertising initiatives for the Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep(R) brands globally. In addition, she will oversee all sales promotions and brand events. She will also provide strategic direction for the company's marketing efforts around the world.
Meyer will report to Steven Landry, Executive Vice President - North American Sales, Global Marketing, Service and Parts.

"Deborah Wahl Meyer has a proven track record in the automotive industry, both in North America and globally," said Landry. "She also clearly understands the dealer network and values partnering to create positive results."

Meyer joins The New Chrysler after six years with Toyota Motor Sales, most recently, as the Vice President of Marketing for the Lexus Division. Prior to Toyota, Meyer was with the Ford Motor Company where she held various positions including Marketing Communications Manager for Lincoln Mercury; Group Manager, Brand Strategy and Communications, Mazda North American Operations; and Brand Manager, Ford do Brasil. Before joining Ford, Meyer was a product manager for three years at W.L. Gore and Associates in Paris, France. She began her career at The Chase Manhattan Bank in New York.

A Detroit-area native, Meyer graduated in 1986 from Wellesley College (Wellesley, Mass.) with a bachelor's degree in Economics. She holds a master's degree in Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a masters degree in Science in International Studies from the school's The Joseph H. Lauder Institute of Management International Studies. In 2005, she was named to Automotive News' "100 Leading Women in the North American Automotive Industry."
