Jason Vines named Chairman of Organization that Celebrates Automotive Heritage

DEARBORN, Mich., Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The Automotive Hall of Fame has announced that Jason Vines, Vice President of Communications for DaimlerChrysler Corporation's Chrysler Group, has been named Chairman of the Automotive Hall of Fame. The announcement was made by Jeffrey K. Leestma, Automotive Hall of Fame President.
As Chairman of the Board, Vines will preside at all meetings of the Board and will provide strategic direction to the organization. He will also serve as Chairman of the Executive Committee and is an ex-officio member of all standing committees.

"Mr. Vines has been a consistent and dedicated supporter of the Automotive Hall of Fame," said Leestma. "We are honored to have him serve as Chairman. His industry knowledge and genuine enthusiasm will certainly help the Automotive Hall of Fame maintain its status as the only industry-wide means to honor the men and women of the global motor vehicle industry."

Vines has spent his entire career in the automotive industry. After graduating from Central University of Iowa in 1982, he joined Chrysler Corporation specializing in labor economics and collective bargaining. He joined the public relations staff in 1989, and worked in various capacities until being named Vice President of Public Relations and Vice President of External Affairs for Nissan North America in 1998. In 2000, Vines joined Ford Motor Company as Vice President of Communications, and in 2002, he was named partner and managing director of Strat@comm, a leading Washington, D.C.-based public affairs firm. In 2003, Vines rejoined Chrysler as Vice President of Communications, where he played an integral role in the resurgence of the company as part of DaimlerChrysler. Automotive News has named Vines its "Communications All-Star" three times since 1999.

The Automotive Hall of Fame, located in Dearborn, Mich. is dedicated to preserving the history of mobility by celebrating the creativity, toil and genius of the individual.
