Mitsubishi Eclipse Sales Leads Mitsubishi Motors to July Sales Increase

CYPRESS, Calif., Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc., (MMNA) today reported July sales of 10,502 units, an increase of 1.2% over last July's total of 10,376.
It marked the fifth consecutive month that U.S. sales topped the 10,000 mark. MMNA last sold 10,000-plus vehicles for five months in a row nearly two years ago, during May-August 2004.

MMNA President & CEO Hiroshi Harunari said, "We are very pleased to show sales increases in a month that was very challenging for our industry as a whole. We are confident we will continue this momentum, and accomplish even better results with the launch of our exciting all-new Outlander in the fall."

July sales highlights:

* Eclipse sales were 2,657 up 14.0% from July 2005 volume. Calendar-year-to-date Eclipse volume was up 55.8% from last year's CYTD volume.

* Eclipse Spyder convertible sales were up 102% from July 2005 and are up 44% for the calendar year.

* Lancer sales were up 53% over last July's volume.

* Lancer Evolution sales were up 58% over last July's volume
