Renault Trucks has launched a new, highly realistic PC based truck racing game, that can be downloaded for free from the companys website at www.renault-trucks.com/truckracing . The new game is based on the race performances of a real Renault Premium race truck, equipped with a DXi 13 engine.

Players of the game will find themselves at the wheel of a 1,110hp Premium racing truck with 5,100Nm of torque. A series of warm-ups and time trials are available to help players get the feel of the truck, before entering a lifelike race.

The new PC game features three levels of difficulty and aspiring truck drivers can select the pro mode and remove the ESP, ABS and ASR to go for the manual gearbox!

Available as a free download on www.renault-trucks.com/truckracing, the Truck Racing by Renault Trucks game comes hard on the heels of the major success enjoyed by the manufacturers home-grown truck racing simulators at the 2008 Hanover Show. This free web-based version means that the experience can be shared with the largest possible number of people.

The new game was developed by an independent Lyon-based company, Game Seed (created in 2005 by four former employees of the famous Infogrames Studio). The minimum configuration to run this highly exciting game is as follows:

Truck racing for real is very popular amongst drivers and hauliers alike. Almost 200,000 spectators turned up on the Nuburgring circuit in Germany for a recent European event!

Renault Trucks has been heavily involved in truck racing since 2007 with the Frankie truck racing team. The company provides logistics vehicles (2 Magnums, 2 Premium Long Distance, 1 Midlum and a Master) along with maintenance and engine development of the race trucks. This racing experience is a unique opportunity for Renault Trucks engineers, allowing them to test new materials and components and new technical solutions. From this most demanding of environments they derive successful developments that the customer will benefit from in production vehicles.
