Race Drivers Pump Up the Benefits of Ethanol in Advance of Historic Indy 500

Indianapolis, IN (May 23, 2007) - Indianapolis consumers can follow in the footsteps of the IndyCar® Series and make a choice at the pump for energy independence and cleaner air. E10, a blend of10 percent ethanol and 90 percent gasoline and will be available for $2.25 a gallon, the speed of the pole position at this year’s Indy 500.
The promotion will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2007 for a limited time at the GasAmerica located at 5179 LaFayette Road in Indianapolis. IndyCar drivers Jeff Simmons, Scott Sharp, and Sarah Fisher will be on hand to sign autographs and answer motorist’s questions about ethanol. E10 is warranted for use in any vehicle built after 1980. E85 is a blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline and can only be used in Flex-Fuel Vehicles (FFV’s). There are more than 6 million FFV’s on the road today. The 91st running of the Indianapolis 500 will be held Sunday, May 27, 2007 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This will be the first time that all vehicles in the race will be powered with cleaner, greener, 100 percent fuel-grade ethanol.
