ZEELAND, Mich., June 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gentex Corporation, the leading supplier of automatic-dimming mirrors to the worldwide automotive industry, has begun shipping interior auto-dimming mirrors for the all-new Peugeot 207, PSA Peugeot Citroen's new sporty compact hatchback.
Gentex auto-dimming mirrors automatically darken to reduce glare from the headlamps of vehicles approaching from the rear. The brighter the glare, the darker the mirrors become, making nighttime driving safer.

The 207, recently unveiled at the Geneva International Auto Show, will be sold in Europe, Asia, South America, and the Persian Gulf. It is slated to be the eventual successor to the widely popular Peugeot 206, one of Europe's best-selling vehicles. An interior auto-dimming mirror will be standard on the top trim levels and will also be available in various option packages.

"This is the first compact platform at PSA Peugeot Citroen to offer an interior auto-dimming mirror," stated Enoch Jen, Gentex senior vice president and chief financial officer. "Not only is there a tremendous amount of growth potential in this vehicle segment, but this particular piece of new business also furthers our penetration into the French market."

Founded in 1974, Gentex Corporation (NASDAQ:GNTX) is an international company that provides high-quality products to the worldwide automotive industry and North American fire protection market. Based in Zeeland, Michigan, the Company develops, manufactures and markets interior and exterior automatic-dimming automotive rearview mirrors that utilize proprietary electrochromic technology to dim in proportion to the amount of headlight glare from trailing vehicle headlamps. Many of the mirrors are sold with advanced electronic features, and approximately 95 percent of the Company's revenues are derived from the sales of auto-dimming mirrors to nearly every major automaker in the world.
