Since last 2 April, when the new SEAT Ibiza made its world debut at the Martorell Prototype Centre, three spectacular rigs equipped with glass showcases, a colourful light show and interior cameras have been making an intense, exciting tour around Europe in order to show off SEAT’s new model before its commercial launch.
In total, the design and sportiness of the new SEAT Ibiza will be on display in 17 European cities during the 40-day “Ibiza Tour” covering more than 50,000 kilometres.
Cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, London, Paris, Geneva, Berlin, Krakow, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Rome and Strasbourg are a few of the destinations visited by the motorcade during rush hour to attract the most attention from drivers and passers-by.
The new SEAT Ibiza began its Spanish tour in San Sebastián before visiting Orense, Vigo, Pontevedra, Santiago de Compostela, Lugo, La Coruña, Gijón, Valladolid, Bilbao, Vitoria and Pamplona in the north; Madrid, Toledo and Salamanca in the centre; Zaragoza, Lleida, Girona, Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante and Murcia in the east; and Cáceres, Seville, Huelva, Cádiz, Córdoba, Almería, Málaga and Granada in the south.
Besides, the “Ibiza Tour” will also be present at the big race events, such as the Spanish Formula 1 taking place next 27 April at the Circuit de Catalunya, at the German DTM being held at Italy’s Mugello track on 4 May, or the third meeting of the World Touring Car Championship taking place in Valencia on 17-18 May.
The exterior of the rigs features banners advertising a draw for 10 trips to Ibiza, in the Balearic Islands. Visitors to the microweb www.seatibiza08.es can register to participate in the draw, which includes the possibility of test driving SEAT’s newest model. The itinerary of the motorcade can be followed on the microweb, which also includes all the dates and destinations of the Ibiza Tour, with updated videos and photographs of the tour highlights.
