Latest SEAT Headlines

Only two months after its introduction as a prototype at the Madrid Motor Show, the new Toledo is already a reality. With it, SEAT redefines the classical saloon concept to offer more versatility, functionality, and unprecedented spaciousness for an automobile of this class.
The third Toledo generation retains the essence of its predecessors, combining the notchback concept of the current model (launched in 1998) with the rear hatch of the first Toledo (1991). All moreover without giving up one of the most appealing features for Toledo users: a large volume boot.

The new Toledo will be introduced next September at the International Automobile Salon in Paris. And it will be launched on the market before the end of the year.

Due to its size, features and versatility, the second model of the "new SEAT" is intended to be the first family car: an attractive large-volume saloon, perfectly combining length with interior space and a large capacity boot.

Undoubtedly, the new Toledo marks a change in the current trend among the cars of its type by redefining the classical saloon concept to respond to current requirements of potential customers in this class.

The second model of the "new SEAT"

Toledo is, after Altea, the second model of the new generation of SEAT cars. Conceived by SEAT within the Audi brand group, this product portrays the image and features that identify the new models of the Spanish brand.

Thus, the new Toledo stands out with its innovative and attractive design. Particularly the shape of the rear door, the large front grille and the expressive headlights, and, on the sides, the dynamic line, a design feature beginning in the curve of the front wheel arch and running smoothly along the doors until reaching the back wheel.

With a length of 4.50 metres and a width of 1.77 metres, the new Toledo offers more interior space as compared to longer vehicles, thanks to its monovolume design and its height of 1.57 metres. Furthermore, it boasts a two-level luggage compartment with a 500-litre capacity.

Bluetooth and MP3 technologies

One of the outstanding innovations of the new SEAT Toledo is the Bluetooth technology, which allows a standardized wireless communication between two mobile devices. The main advantage of this technology is that it does not require a physical connection between the mobile telephone and the vehicle to provide a completely hands-free system.

Additionally, Bluetooth technology can be operated by means of multifunction buttons in the steering wheel to accept calls, disconnect after finishing and gain access to one of the most important features that the system exhibits: voice recognition. When using this feature, the user can verbally request the placement of a call to a number or a name, save names and numbers in the phone book, etc. And all this while keeping his or her hands on the wheel.

As for the audio system of the new Toledo, it is perfectly integrated in the central console of the dashboard and offers a top slot to insert standard or MP3 format CDs.

Four engines

The new model is available with four different engines, two petrol - 150 bhp (110 kW) 2.0 FSI and 102 bhp (75 kW) 1.6 - and two Diesel - 140 bhp (103 kW) 2.0 TDI and 105 bhp (77 kW) 1.9.

The two most powerful engines - the two-litre FSI and TDI - are combined with a six-speed manual gearbox. In addition, the former is also available with automatic and sequential Tiptronic 6-speed gearbox. The 2.0 TDI is available with the new DSG 6-speed gearbox.

The new Toledo also offers a high degree of safety. ABS, TCS and ESP systems are all included, along with an emergency braking assistant (EBA). In addition, assisted electromechanical steering and a chassis incorporating the well-known Agile Chassis combined with a multi-link rear axle, provide the model with excellent stability and very dynamic behaviour.

As for passive safety, the Toledo leaves the factory equipped with six airbags: driver and passenger airbags, and side and head airbags. It also includes three-point seatbelts for all seats, with pyrotechnic pre-tensioners at the front and the Isofix system for securing child seats integrated in the back seats.

Manufactured in Martorell

The new Toledo is exclusively produced in the SEAT factory at Martorell. Leading edge technology is implemented in manufacturing, such as laser welding for body assembly, which, completely galvanized, provides 12-year anticorrosion guarantee.

At the same time, production is characterized by the use of high-resistance steel and by thorough supervision of each unit, subject to strict in-line quality controls.
