6/6/2006 -- Škoda Auto has started offering the Fabia, the Octavia and the Octavia Tour in 2007 designs. The upgrades include a number of technological changes, as well as new items in the respective equipments.
All of the Fabia models now include a combination of ABS, MSR (engine braking torque regulation) and Dual Rate (mechanical braking assistant). The portfolio of colours has changed for 2007, too. Metallic beige Cappuccino and metallic grey Anthracite are replacing the existing beige Sahara and grey Graphite. Instead of yellow Lemon, customers buying any of the Fabia models can now offer a special yellow colour called Sprint. The existing petrol engine 1.4/55 kW used in the Fabia Combi and Fabia Sedan models is going to be replaced with a 1.4/59 kW petrol engine.

Automatic activation of warning lights once the vehicle starts braking abruptly is an important innovation in the Škoda Octavia. Reacting immediately to “panic” breaking, the system activates the warning lights, thus informing other drivers of a potential danger. Other innovations include double sun visors that can be split up to two parts and a cruise control activation light situated in the analogue speedometer area.Vehicles equipped with a dashboard computer and the Maxi-DOT display offer the possibility of setting the following features individually – each door is unlocked individually and locked automatically, an acoustic alert goes off once the anti-theft system is activated, comfortable control of just the driver's window or all windows, separate (electric) control of the left and the right wing mirrors, the sunroof is shut automatically when it starts raining. The portfolio of extra items and features also includes rear seat heating now.

Starting in the Model Year 2007, the tape deck in the Melody radio system has been replaced with a CD player. Besides traditional music CDs, the new Stream radio system makes it possible to play back music CDs in the MP3 format. Useful innovations include an audio signal connection slot located in the Jumbo Box that makes it possible to connect external audio systems (such as iPOD or other types of MP3 players).

Customers buying any of the Octavia models can order 17“ Pegasus wheels also with standard chassis for the Ambiente and Elegance equipment versions (so far available exclusively with sports chassis). A new 1.4/59 kW petrol is going to replace the existing 1.4/55 kW petrol engine in the Octavia and the Octavia Combi. The 1.9 TDI PD/77 kW engine is now also available with a maintenance-free diesel particulate filter (DPF).

Staring in the Model Year 2007, the Škoda Octavia Combi 4x4 is available in two equipment versions, a basic 4x4 and a higher-level 4x4 Elegance. The latter includes the following extra items: Helios alloy wheels, central locking remote control, front fog lights, height-adjustable front seats with lumbar supports, a box under the passenger's seat, two-zone air-conditioning (Climatronic), electric control of rear windows, Jumbo Box (with adjustable elbow support in front), additional 4 speakers in the rear, a box for glasses, a luggage fixing net in the boot, a cruise control system, and fold-up elbow support between the rear seats. The 1.9 TDI PD/77 kW engine for the Octavia Combi 4x4 is also available with a maintenance-free diesel particulate filter (DPF).

The 2007 innovations in the Škoda Octavia RS and the Škoda Octavia Combi RS mainly involve the outside design – the vehicles are now available in new body colours (yellow Sprint and white Candy) and the disc brake callipers are painted red. Tinted glass in wing mirrors is now a standard part of the equipment.

The Octavia Tour models offer an innovated audio system (Symphony) that makes it possible to play back traditional music CDs, as well as music CDs in the MP3 format.

The portfolio of colours for the Octavia line (including the Octavia Tour) has been extended with metallic beige Cappuccino and metallic grey Anthracite that have replaced the beige Sahara and grey Graphite.
